Where Every Child Begins Their Story
The Amaatra Early Years Program is designed for children aged 3 to 6 — a time when curiosity is the greatest teacher. We create an environment where every child feels safe to explore, question, and grow.
Learning Through Doing, Wondering, and Being
At Amaatra, we believe the early years are not a stepping stone to education — they are education in its richest form. Our approach is rooted in the understanding that young children learn best through experience: through play, through conversation, through making things and taking things apart, and through the unhurried freedom to follow their curiosity wherever it leads.
What Fills Our Days
"Every activity is designed to spark curiosity and build confidence."
Deftly woven into the Early Years Program are experiences that go far beyond routine classroom tasks. Our approach is founded on creating immersive opportunities where children learn through doing, experimenting, and reflecting.
From creative exploration and storytelling to drama, music, and outdoor play, every activity is designed to spark curiosity and build confidence. Children express themselves through art, craft, and role play; listen, imagine, and empathise through stories; and develop teamwork and coordination through structured movement and physical games. These experiences encourage decision-making, fine and gross motor skills, social interaction, and emotional awareness, thereby helping each child discover their unique strengths in a joyful environment.
Each of these elements works in harmony, so the child not only experiences the joy of discovery, but also builds a firm base of skills and attitudes that will carry them confidently into the next stage of their learning journey.
A Glimpse Into Our Day
Every day in Early Years follows a rhythm that children come to know, trust, and look forward to.
*This is a representative day. Actual schedules may vary by age group and term. The EYP team will share your child's specific timetable at the start of each term.
Spaces Designed for Small Hands and Big Ideas
Our Early Years spaces are purpose-designed for the way young children actually learn — active, sensory, and social. Every corner of the environment has been thought through.
Dedicated Early Years Classrooms
Bright, flexible classrooms rearranged for different activities throughout the day. Low shelving, accessible materials, and child-height displays so children can navigate their environment independently.
Outdoor Play Area
A dedicated outdoor space for physical play, nature exploration, and supervised free play. Designed to support gross motor development and the kind of exploration that builds confidence and spatial awareness.
Creative and Sensory Spaces
Areas dedicated to art, craft, sand and water play, and other sensory experiences. Mess is welcomed here — it is part of the process.
Reading Nook
A quiet, cosy space stocked with age-appropriate books where children can read independently, be read to, or simply sit with a book and their imagination.
Movement and Music Area
Open space for dance, movement games, drama, and music activities. Designed to be cleared quickly and used flexibly throughout the day.
The People Your Child Will Love Coming to School For
Our Early Years team is chosen as much for their warmth and patience as for their expertise. These are people who genuinely love being with young children — and it shows in everything they do.

Joining the Amaatra Early Years Program
The admissions process for our Early Years Program is designed to be simple, personal, and unhurried. We want to get to know your child — and we want you to get to know us.
WHO CAN APPLY:
Children aged 3 to 6 years, joining Nursery, Pre-Primary 1, or Pre-Primary 2.
HOW IT WORKS:
Rather than a formal entrance test, our Early Years assessment is a short, relaxed interaction session with one of our Early Years teachers. Your child will have the chance to explore the classroom, engage with some simple activities, and simply be themselves. There is no pass or fail — we are getting to know your child and understanding where they are in their development.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT:
Families who are offered a place will be invited to an information session where we walk you through the program, the daily routine, what to expect in the first few weeks, and how to prepare your child for starting school.
If you have questions before you're ready to apply, you're always welcome to call or email our admissions team — or simply come and see the program in action.
